OFFICIAL ANNUAL CHAPTER REPORTING GUIDE

It is that time of year in which we can begin to reflect on your chapter accomplishments and for the National Office to recognize those accomplishments.  The only way to obtain that recognition is through proper submittal of the annual chapter reporting packet.  A complete submission will include the following:

Essays:

  • Chapter of the Year Essay : The National Headquarters of Progressive Black Men, Inc. would like to recognize the Chapter that best holds the virtues of our Organization through hard work and perseverance. This award is considered the highest honor. The Chapter must excel in all Chapter operations of PBM, which will be evaluated in the Chapter Reporting Form. In addition to submitting a completed Chapter Reporting Form, the Chapter must also complete an essay to answer the question “Why Our Chapter Should Hold the Title of National Chapter of the Year”.
  • Brother of the Year Essay: The National Headquarters of Progressive Black Men, Inc. would like to recognize the Brother who embodies the principles of the organization and has been recognized by his Chapter. All Chapters will designate their Chapter Brother of the Year. Each Chapter must submit one brother of the Chapter for consideration of this award. This is the opportunity for the Chapter to highlight the brother chosen to the National organization. An essay must be completed on the brother nominated for the award, answering the following “Why Brother (insert name here) Should Hold the Title of National Brother of the Year”. Also, a “PBM Resume” must be submitted for the nominee (including all positions held in PBM, committees they Have chaired, events they have presided over, etc)
  • Pride of Progression Award: The National Headquarters of Progressive Black Men, Inc. would like to recognize the chapter with the most innovative media/promotional kits. Items for consideration include chapter websites, chapter brochures, and chapter marketing plans. In addition to completing the Annual Chapter Reporting Form, the requirements for this award are listed below: Demonstrate how your chapter positively marketed Progressive Black Men, Inc. through available media outlets. In addition to submitting marketing items, the Chapter must also complete an essay to answer the question:”Why Our Chapter Should Win the National Pride for Progression Award”. Also, the “scrapbook” will help in the assessment of this award.

Award Criteria: 

  • Chapter Awards are judged based on a scale of 1-10
  • Point will be awarded on based upon the high standards of the organization in several different categories; such as: academic excellence, chapter organization, essay, projects & programs, social media, membership/ recruitment, etc.
  • Each National Executive Board member completes a rubric per school and the points of all board members are totaled;
  • The Chapter receiving the highest overall total will win the award
