I am honored to write to you on the dawn of the 25th Anniversary of Progressive Black Men, Inc. Progressive Black Men, Inc started as an ideal to address stereotypes placed upon those of African descent, especially Black Men. Yet as the years continued, we began to mold and adapt to the times, and made our organization fit into the social climate of the times. During my presidency, I watched three chapters turn to 4, and saw the organization began to formalize its structure. It’s been humbling to see us grow from two Chapters in Tallahassee, to addressing the needs of the entire state of Florida and Washington, D.C. The quality of the men we induct into our organization shows the zeal for service that is needed. The service projects that our Chapters have implemented, as well as the initiatives the National Office has set forth continues to show that we not only service our community, but we aggressively seek change. As new challenges come forth, as old wounds begin to unravel, I know that Progressive Black Men is ready to attack them head on through our simple, but powerful, motto of Collective Knowledge, Collective Effort, Collective Strength.
Happy 25th Anniversary Brothers!
David L. Robinson
2nd National President
